The department of physics was established in the year 2004 with the undergraduate course to provide opportunity to the women folk coming from rural and economically poor back ground.

  The department was upgraded as a postgraduate department in the year 2012 with the aim to equip the student with the idea to meet out the expectation of current scenario. The Department started its journey with 21 students and 2 Assistant Professors and presently our department has grown up with 7 Assistant Professors and 180 students. The department has got well equipped laboratories and class rooms, provided with teaching aids like charts, over head projector and computers. Media centric learning methodologies like National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), Virtual Laboratory, INFLIBNET & video classes were introduced in the curriculum for effective teaching - learning process. Sir C.V.Raman Club & Aryyabatta Adventure Association are functioning since 2004 in the department of Physics, wherein various events like seminar, Quiz, Debate, Speech, Science meet and Celebration of various days are conducted for the benefit of future physicist. Industrial visits are organized to various places in order to give a wider practical knowledge to the students. With the support of dedicated faculties, working with innovative teaching methodologies. The department has secured distinguished University ranks since 2008. Eminent resource persons from various institutions had given lectures on current Physics topics in seminars organized by the department. The Department of Physics was the first to organize the National level conference in our Institution.
